Associacions in Girona

Associacions are non-profit organisations formed by people working together to achieve a common goal.

An associació becomes official when it’s registered in the Registre d’Associacions de la Generalitat de Catalunya.

Most associacions have:

• Junta directiva (board: president, secretary, treasurer, etc.)
• Socis/sòcies (members)
• Assemblea general

Entitat is a broader term that means any organization, institution, or body (public or private). It includes associacions, cooperatives, and public institutions (like universities or councils).
