  • Girona Buddies has a volunteering group, join at https://gironabuddies.com/volunteering
  • Sorrellona is a group that organizes volunteering activities and speaks English.
  • Age in Spain is a charity that helps English-speaking old people living in Spain. Its registered address is in Palma de Mallorca but you can volunteer from home. It has four branches: Friendline (make a friendly phone call once a week to someone who wants to chat), Veteran Casework, Infoline and a Support and Advocacy service. Litter cleanup organisations[edit]

  • Brigada Activista del Salabret or "the Brigades". They meet once a week to pick up litter from the ground and rivers. The organiser is a man called Joan Olivet[1]. If you want to join, then you don't need to bring anything, but it's advisable to bring gloves so you don't touch the litter with your bare hands. They put the the date and details of their upcoming cleanups on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/brigadaactivistadelsalabret/?hl=en. The also sometimes post to Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100076137530456.
  • Voluntariat ambiental per la conservació de l’espinós a l’Espai Natural Protegit de les Gavarres / Associació La Sorellona https://voluntariatambiental.cat/activitat/voluntariat-ambiental-a-les-gavarres/, They pick up litter, sometimes they do it in Girona
  • XCN (xarxa per a la conservació de la natura) https://xcn.cat/ might do litter picking?
  • Spogomi Cleanup Competition: Annual litter-picking competition in Girona. Requires teams of three, including at least two Spanish speakers. Only takes place once a year.
  • FreeAdvenTour: Organized a past cleanup at Gola de Ter. Contact Alex. (no current plans for another event).

Time Bank[edit]

Girona has a time bank called Banc del Temps Pont del Dimoni. It started by a man called Pablo Lidoy, who still runs it today.

Girona Buddies has subgroups for different languages. If you’re a native speaker, you can help by chatting with learners and giving them a chance to practice.
