  • Girona Buddies Language tables meetup
Girona Buddies has a Language Tables meetup every Sunday at PdePa Claret. Around 10-15 people go each time. The first one was in September 2025. Every table has a flag (Catalan, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German) and when you sit at a table, you speak the language of the flag. Their WhatsApp group is at https://gironabuddies.com/languageexchange.

Language exchanges outside Girona[edit]

  • Figueres Language Exchange meet every week in Figueres (45-min drive from Girona). It was started by a man called Ernest. Currently a woman called Anna runs it instead. Some say there are different tables, and each table speaks a different language.[2][3] Others say they play language-themed games instead.[4] They have a WhatsApp group called "Fridays-Freitags-Vendredi"[5] and a Meetup page called Girona International Society (https://www.meetup.com/es-ES/girona-international-meetup). Ernest also set up weekly Catalan conversation meetups in Barcelona called Mantinc el català, as well weekly meetups in Perpignan.[6], and apparently weekly meetups in Girona too.

  3. Message in the Girona Buddies volunteering group on 2025-05-26: "Maybe instead of having different hours for different groups on different days.. it could be an idea to simply have one day, one café/Parc/centre civic and different tables with the sign of the language in the middle. So people can practice different languages in one space and frustration/work to organize may be less." "The Figueres language exchange do this, same day. 'Friday' but different tables."
